bio
LA & Mr. Music are a multi-faceted duo from Chicago with a fresh sound appealing to a large demographic ranging from genres of Hip-Hop, Contemporary R&B, and Pop music.

LA is an electrifying rapper who connects with fans of both mainstream Pop and underground Hip-Hop through a combination of thought-provoking metaphors and clever punch lines delivered with the swagger of a Superstar. LA’s unique voice punctuates curse-free lyrics, which further separates him from today’s rappers. He draws influence from the likes of Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, and T.I. not only through their abilities as rappers but also as performers and artists.

Mr. Music began his craft early at the age of 17, making melody-driven Hip-Hop beats and writing rap songs. Since then, Mr. Music’s production style has had no limitations. His style encompasses everything from occasional sampling to creating original compositions using digital synth’s, pianos, guitar’s, and percussion instruments. In addition to his first love of producing, Mr. Music has expanded his repertoire and has developed himself into a talented singer/songwriter, influenced by everyone from Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake to today’s modern songwriters/producers like The-Dream and Ryan Leslie.

LA & Mr. Music met in July of 2008 and have been making music as one ever since. After learning of their undeniable chemistry in the studio, LA & Mr. Music co-wrote, recorded, and produced a full-length album, “What Do You Do?” in July 2009, currently available for download on iTunes. In just this short time span, the duo has achieved a sizzling buzz throughout Chicago across radio stations like B96 and 103.5 KISS FM as well as features in Chicago’s Redeye and popular blog sites gowherehiphop.com and djbooth.net. In 2010, LA & Mr. Music opened up for rapper Ludacris as well as at The B96 Pepsi Summer Bash. They’ve performed all across the Midwest with headlining shows in Indiana, Minneapolis, and Iowa. While on tour, LA & Mr. Music released “The Billboard Hot 100 Series,” a mixtape dedicated to showing off their talent and skill in remixing the hottest songs on the Billboard charts from 2010. This project, hosted by Julian on the Radio from Chicago’s B96 Morning Radio Show got them a nomination at the Chicago Music Awards for Pop Entertainer of the Year in 2010.

2011 marks the year of the duo’s first ever music video for their Dance single “Let’s Get F’d Up” directed by Rick Wayne of Underscore Films. With the release of this new song, currently available on iTunes, LA & Mr. Music are determined to take the Pop world by storm. The music video adds yet another dimension to this rising young talent’s potential. Stay tuned as LA & Mr. Music continue to break down the doors of the music industry and make their way to the top of the charts!
